Dynamite - Acoustic Instrumental Cover by Daryll Evan

Here's my most viewed video, the my instrumental cover for "Dynamite". I shot this video along with the River Flows In You cover. I'm not really sure why I chose this song;  it was probably because I liked the song's catchy melody. It's another Taio Cruz song but that doesn't mean that I am an avid fan of him; just that these were the types of songs that I was exposed to those times. Actually it's just the same chords from Break Your Heart but with a different progression. I still did it by ear though, and also practiced it for some time before I finally shot it.

River Flows in You - Acoustic Instrumental Cover by Daryll Evan

Here's my guitar cover on River Flows in you by Yiruma. The arrangement is based from a Youtube user named brotherfung who provided tabs for the song. Though I am not familiar with reading musical notes, I do know how to read guitar tabs. Practicing the song actually paved way for me to learn fingerstyle plucking. Learning how to play it and master it was not easy, it was truly challenging; I practiced it for almost a year before I shot this video.  Actually, I learned to play this song before I did the "Break your Heart" and "Dynamite" covers.

The video was shot last April 2011 just outside our house. You might probably hear birds, a bus, and my sister playing the violin on the background. There are about 4 to 5 video clips that I put together to compose the final video. I guess it took some more blooper clips for me before I could take the final clip. Oh and this was the first video that I showed my face to the camera.. Forgive me I look so conscious throughout the entire video. hehehe.. I still shot it alone and it's more awkward when a camera is placed in front of me playing when my face is showing.
